Concord Sailing Center Instructors and TA Applications It’s that time of year again when we start preparing for CYC’s annual Sail Camp. We’re really looking forward to a great camp this summer. We're taking applications now through May 1 for Instructors and TAs. TAs must be at least 15 years old and have taken the motorboating safety course if they were born after the date set by law. Instructors must be at least 18 years old and have completed the US Sailing Level 1 Instructor certification. People under the age of 18 who have completed the certification may apply to be a Junior Instructor. TAs and Instructors will be selected on several factors, including experience, character, knowledge, and work ethic. Please fill out the application and email it back to Suzi Richters or mail it to the enclosed address.
Info about US SAILING LEVEL ONE INSTRUCTOR's course The level 1 Instructor Course registration for CYC/CSC May 8-11 is posted on the US Sailing web. Go to the site below to register. http://www.ussailing.org/training/Instructors/InstructorCourses.asp Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Prior experience in operating a safety boat IS required. This skill will NOT be taught. Important Notes for Level 1 Instructor course candidates: - REGISTRATION FOR ALL US SAILING TRAINING COURSES ARE ON A FIRST PAY BASIS! - ATTENDANCE AT ALL COURSE SESSIONS IS MANDATORY. ABSENCE FROM ANY PORTION OF THE COURSE EXCLUDES THE INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATE FROM EVALUATION. - US SAILING individual membership required - National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) Safe Boating certification is required. TN Safe Boating Course is available on-line or through TWRA. Boat US has a free on-line course that will satisfy the prerequisite. However, if you need to get the TWRA 600 (if you were born after 1/1/89 you should visit the TWRA website for courses available.
