FOR RESIGNATION, reference page 37 of the CYC handbook.  An excerpt is contained here.

The process for resigning membership from CYC is as follows:

Step 1. A member sends notice to the CYC Secretary requesting resignation from the Club by filling out this Membership Change of Status Form: .

Step 2. The CYC Secretary performs the following functions:

  • a. Determine from the CYC Treasurer if the member is in good standing and paid in full. (If there is an outstanding balance due, the member must satisfy this financial obligation before their resignation request is considered by the Board.)
  • b. Determine from the CYC Harbormaster if the member has removed all property stored at CYC from the club grounds. (If the property has not yet been removed or sold to another member, they must remove it before their resignation request is considered by the Board.)
  • c. Collect the member’s Keys, Entry Cards, and Club Bond. (Until these items are collected, the request for resignation cannot be considered by the Board. Items can be mailed, or left at the club. If leaving at the club, place them in an envelope with your name on it in the Secretary mail slot/shelf at the end of the snack bar in the kitchen.)

Step 3. Once all the conditions in Step 2 are met, the CYC Secretary will bring the member’s request to the CYC Board for consideration and approval of resignation. (The Board typically meets the second Tuesday of each month.)

Step 4. Once resignation is approved, the CYC Secretary will notify the member their request for resignation has been approved. The Secretary will notify the CYC Treasurer to process any financial settlement. The Secretary will update the CYC member roster showing the member has resigned.

Any questions or concerns on the process should be addressed to the secretary.
